Insuresoft Sponsors Golf Outing at PCI Technology Conference
October 20, 2008
For the 6th year running, Insuresoft, a leading insurance software company, sponsored the annual Property Casualty
Insurers Association of America’s golf outing at Desert Pines Golf course in Las Vegas, NV on Tuesday, October 7th.
As part of the PCI Information Technology Conference sponsorship packages, Insuresoft provided 16 foursomes
who signed up to play golf during the conference with beautiful greens, perfect weather and great camaraderie with
colleagues from the property and casualty insurance industry.
Golfers boarded busses at Ceasar’s Palace destined for Desert Pines Golf Club where they were treated to a box lunch
and some practice time prior to heading for their assigned tees for the 1pm shotgun start. “This was an ideal venue
to relax and enjoy each other’s company,” stated Tony Villa, Insuresoft CEO, “It’s a great way to meet and greet other
P&C colleagues outside their respective offices.”
Insuresoft’s marketing department was also on hand helping to make the event fun and memorable. Instead of
handing out the traditional “goodie bag” with golf balls, tees and towels ahead of the golf outing, participants had to
“earn” their golf prizes by beating a golf pro on the 16th hole. KyLee Brown, a Nike Tour Golf pro, was on hand to tee
off on the 16th hole before each foursome. Each golfer had to beat KyLee’s drive in order to win a golf prize. Luckily
for the golfers, Insuresoft’s marketing department was kind in determining which drives went farther.
Dominic Grosso, Vice President and CIO, AAA MidAtlantic, found the “Beat the Pro” format challenging, “I have to say
that there were probably some bruised egos as a result of some fairly poor drives on the 16th hole. KyLee was tough
to beat but it was all in the spirit of fun”, continued Grosso.
“PCI is happy to have Insuresoft as a returning sponsor of the golf outing,” stated John Palombi, PCI Assistant Vice
President - MIS Operations and Support, “Our members truly look forward to the golf outing and the contacts they
make while on the course.”
Insuresoft announced at the post outing awards ceremony that they will return as the
sponsor for the PCI Information Technology Conference Golf Outing again in 2009.

Insuresoft Delivers Diamond System to Align General in California
Insuresoft, a leading provider of insurance policy administration software, today announced the successful implementation of its Diamond System for Align General Insurance Agency in the state of California. Insuresoft is proud to be the chosen systems solutions provider for Align General’s fast growing personal auto insurance line of business.
Align General first implemented the Diamond System when it began writing personal auto insurance in Texas in February 2005. Following this first successful implementation, Align was positioned to quickly and efficiently expand into California working with Insuresoft.
"Insuresoft’s dedicated Diamond team developed a very good understanding of Align’s business model and unique systems requirements during the first implementation. This allowed us to expand our business into California more rapidly and cost-effectively than would otherwise have been possible." said Kieran Sweeney, President and CEO of Align General.
For Align, partnering with Insuresoft is not only about the ease of expanding into new states using the Diamond System. "The Diamond System has allowed us to create highly efficient and scalable workflow processes across our enterprise. This enables us to concentrate on delivering the superlative products and services to our customers that we expect ourselves," Sweeney adds. "We place an emphasis on effective communication and on-time delivery, so we feel strongly that we made the right decision to select Insuresoft as our long-term systems partner."
The Diamond System facilitated the optimization of efficiencies in Align’s distribution model, which leverages the power and flexibility of the Internet. "Align is an example of an insurance provider that takes full advantage of technology to provide a full array of point-of-sale processing and servicing capabilities to their customers and agents," said Karen Greene, Project Manager for Insuresoft. "Diamond’s service-oriented architecture also provides Align with the ability to deploy the system more rapidly as the company expands using a phased approach."

Buckeye Case Study
Insuresoft's Diamond Policy Processing System Shines Bright for Buckeye Insurance
What small company hasn’t found itself in Buckeye Insurance Group’s shoes? You get so caught up in the day-to-day operation of your business that you reach the point where your job is less about doing business and more about how you do business. For Chris Haines and the IT department at Buckeye, that meant spending their time keeping a legacy mainframe system—and a homegrown one at that—operating, instead of helping the company and its independent agents sell insurance policies.
Buckeye had spent 20 years enhancing the insurance software system, and its problems and limitations were becoming obvious. Haines, the P&C insurer’s manager of technical operations, said staffing (and turnover) was becoming a major issue. "We could not just take RPG programmers off the street, bring them in, and have them start maintaining this system," he said. "They needed to understand its inner workings. That only comes from experience and having your hands on the insurance software system."
From a creative standpoint, this was also hurting the IT department. Instead of luring new and talented workers with the promise of developing exciting ways to do business with its agency force (websites, agency interfaces, etc.), Haines and the staff were spending time and money on maintaining an old insurance software system. End-user training was another problem: The old insurance software system used
green screens, which meant the staff had to be trained to look closely for things such as coverage limits. Using temporary help was virtually impossible, because it took up to three months to train new personnel on the system.
Buckeye initially considered building a new policy processing system of its own, but personnel changes made that more of a stretch, according to Haines. There were starts and stops along the way, but by 1999 the company was ready for an outside solution and decided on the Diamond System. In September of 2000, Buckeye went live with Diamond 4.0. Within six months, data conversion for the personal-auto line was complete, and 10,000 policies were in the insurance software system. Haines said he was hoping to get roughly 75 percent of policy information from the data conversion, but instead got between 90 and 95 percent.
Converting to any property and casualty system has its rocky moments. "You have times when you’re holding a few policies waiting on a fix, but those are the exception, not the norm," Haines said. "The benefits greatly outweigh the stutter steps we had to take to get where we are."
Haines believes the system’s ability to do out-of-sequence endorsements and to view previous policy images are some of its biggest benefits. "With our previous system, every policy had one image. When changes were made, notes had to be taken to describe how the policy was changed, but you could never go back and look at the previous image," Haines said.

Grange Press Release
Insuresoft Delivers Diamond 4.32x for Grange’s Auto Line of Business in Idaho
January 26, 2006 : University Park, IL
Insuresoft, a leading provider of insurance policy administration software, today announced Grange Insurance Group successfully upgraded to the latest version of the Diamond System, Diamond 4.32x for its auto line of business in the state of Idaho.
Grange was able to complete their expansion quickly and cost effectively due to their long-standing partnership with Insuresoft. Insuresoft’s dedicated Diamond team already understood the company’s business model and unique requirements, allowing the implementation to move rapidly toward a successful completion.
Grange first implemented Diamond for its Idaho auto line in 2002, and the upgrade to Diamond 4.32x was an easy one due to Insuresoft’s Perpetual Licensing Agreement. This unique licensing arrangement enables carriers to keep pace with the latest technology and to take advantage of new features and enhancements that are developed in response to changes in the marketplace. In addition, the Perpetual Licensing Agreement allows carriers to upgrade at their own pace so that the testing and implementation can be done on a schedule that works for them.
While migrating to a new system is always a daunting task, Insuresoft ensured a smooth transition. The Insuresoft team, with prior first-hand knowledge of Grange’s system, was able to turn the typically challenging process of data conversion into a simple one. "The migration process went smoothly both on our end, and for Grange," said Chuck Martin, Development Manager for Insuresoft. "Grange was well prepared to implement Diamond, and we are glad that we could provide them with a seamless transition."
Now that Grange has experienced the benefits of a fully automated policy processing system, they look forward to the day that all their lines in all their states are on the Diamond System.
"Moving our Idaho auto line to Diamond 4.32x was the first step in migrating all our states, and so far the process has been very encouraging," said Nina Latrofa, IT manager at Grange. "All our products will benefit greatly from this system, which will eliminate costly overnight batch processing, streamline our data entry process, and allow us to add new features and functionality in a quick timeframe."
About Grange:
Grange Insurance Group is the industry recognized name for Grange Insurance Association and Rocky Mountain Fire & Casualty Company of Seattle, WA. Grange has been insuring farming families in smaller western communities since 1894. Throughout the past 100 years, Grange has grown to more than $200 million in written premium, all the while, holding fast to its commitment to families in "Main Street" towns, farm communities, and suburban areas of the West.

Buckeye Press Release
Buckeye Implements Diamond System for All Lines of Business in South Dakota
April 14, 2006 : University Park, IL
Insuresoft, a leading provider of insurance policy administration software, today announced the successful completion of the Diamond System implementation for Buckeye Insurance Group for all lines of business in the state of South Dakota. Insuresoft is proud to continue to provide insurance software solutions for Buckeye, a regional leader in farm, home and auto protection, as they grow their business with the help of the Diamond System.
The Diamond System's insurance software was first implemented for Buckeye in September of 2000 and since then the company has enjoyed the many benefits of a fully automated policy processing system. Buckeye was able to complete their recent expansion quickly and cost effectively due to their partnership with Insuresoft. Insuresoft’s dedicated Diamond team already understood the company’s business model and unique requirements, allowing the implementation to move rapidly toward a successful completion.
"Because of our history working together, Insuresoft truly understands what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and when it needs to be done," said R. Christopher Haines, Assistant Vice President of Technical Operations at Buckeye. "But, it’s not just the Insuresoft team or Buckeye’s internal systems that made this expansion successful. The implementation also went smoothly because of the Diamond product itself -- the structure of the Diamond System lends itself to easy expansion."
"Once a carrier has implemented the Diamond System, extending it to cover new states is a fast process," said Chris Blair, Vice President of Product Management at Insuresoft. "Buckeye was able to expand their business opportunities without hindrance from technological setbacks."
About Buckeye:
Buckeye Insurance Group is a progressive regional company using select, professional, independent agents who share a vision to provide policyholders with quality insurance protection at competitive, stable rates. Buckeye has its home office in Piqua, Ohio, and writes business throughout the Midwest.
About Insuresoft Inc.:
Insuresoft is a leading policy processing systems provider for the property and casualty insurance industry. Insuresoft offers a suite of products and services that meet the unique automation needs of managing general agents and insurance companies in North America. Insuresoft Policy Processing Services
At Insuresoft, providing "ongoing service" means more than answering inquiries or fixing computer problems. It means delivering solutions to the various business needs of our customers through features and functionality added to the base system.
From this process, our partners gain the benefit of upgrading the policy processing system without having to repurchase the system at some termination point of a contract. Additionally, Insuresoft offers a forum for carriers to contribute to the future direction of our products, cultivating a true technology provider and carrier partnership.

- Implementation
Insuresoft realizes that implementing a new policy automation system can be a complex business challenge. Carriers seek new policy automation systems capabilities to assist customers, independent insurance agents, and third-party business partners in becoming more efficient. At the same time, they are often somewhat resistant to change. The Diamond System implementation methodology provides carriers with clearly defined project milestones and responsibilities that speed the delivery process and promote user acceptance. - Support
Insuresoft strives to meet the individual needs of each customer. Whether you require a dedicated support team or the ability to utilize a support pool, Insuresoft's insurance software offers the right solution to every business need. Our highly qualified support team includes staff who are Microsoft Certified in their area of expertise. - Maintenance
Insuresoft’s philosophy is to work with customers in ongoing development, and as a result, we are continually adding value to our policy processing system. Our Perpetual Licensing Agreement is a comprehensive licensing option designed especially to keep customers updated with the latest insurance softwareversions and insurance software enhancements, while allowing customers a migration path to future releases.
Value Added Insurance Software Products
In addition to the Diamond System, Insuresoft offers the following Value Added Products to insurance carriers regardless of what policy administration system they use.
User Configured Rating
Insuresoft’s User Configured Rating allows for intuitive configuration of the rating process and provides quicker implementation of your current and future rate books. This tool facilitates fast implementation processes and provides you with rate modeling ability for accurate market analysis.
Data Warehouse
Insuresoft’s Data Warehouse leverages the OLAP tools and Microsoft Pivot Table Services within Microsoft’s SQL Server 2000 so carriers can use familiar applications such as Microsoft Excel and Access to generate company specific financial and management reports. The Data Warehouse also provides "sandbox" modeling capabilities to analyze rate changes across a book of business. This real-time access to valuable customer data can fuel timely decisions.
Agency Web Portal
The Insuresoft Agency Web Portal is 100% .NET and can leverage the Diamond Rating and Underwriting Module or an existing legacy system to perform Internet based inquiry, rating, and policy issuance for the insurance carrier’s appointed independent insurance agents. The Agency Web Portal uses XML and Web Services to extend company-specific data and business rules to authorized users, regardless of their location.
Sales Center Module
The Insuresoft Sales Center Module features a "smart," .NET client that provides additional campaign management, proposal generation, and lead tracking services that are designed for property and casualty insurers.
Mobile Insurance Application
Insuresoft’s Mobile Insurance Application is optimized to run under Microsoft’s Windows XP Tablet PC platform for the agent or adjuster out in the field. The application communicates with Diamond via XML Web Services, allowing a user to quote a policy, submit a new policy to the carrier system, and associate images or other files with a submitted policy. The application also supports offline access, so an agent or adjuster may gather data in the field, then synchronize with the back-end system once an Internet connection becomes available.
